Setting Your Intentions Here we are at the beginning of a new year—a time many of us make resolutions about what we are going to do, or not do, in the months ahead. This year, instead of making resolutions about what you are going to do, why not set your intentions on who you are going to be? In our society, we usually measure our lives by our accomplishments and activities. We allow all the “doing” to fill our lives, until there is little time to be. We take little time to look at how we express ourselves and what we empower in our lives with our thoughts and concerns. It is time to marvel at the world around us and our special part in that magnificent creation. Doing is important, but unless we take time to balance all this activity with time for reflection, inspiration, praise and joy, we really haven’t created anything. May this year be filled with moments when you know who you are and the power you embody just by being who your are.
Blessings, in all ways!!

Words
from Our Founder... Dr. Ernest Holmes
Back to Basics This month, as always, it’s “back to basics.” And there is nothing more basic than remembering our remarkable founder, Ernest Holmes He was born in rural Maine, one of nine sons! The family was impoverished, but was well-educated. Many of the boys grew up to go on to Harvard or the like. Ernest hated school but read everything he could find, and asked question after question. (His brothers called him “the eternal question mark”.) In Boston, he found books by Ralph Waldo Emerson and Thomas Troward and his great questions started to be answered. After many years of exploring, his reading and pondering allowed him to formulate our wonderful teaching. He was truly one-of-a-kind and will be long remembered through us. Much love, Centered in Spiritual Living Dear Friends... Centered in spiritual living is a great way to live. Becoming the Center for Spiritual Living Denver in September of 2008 has invited us in this community to contemplate more frequently the question, “what’s possible in our lives when we are centered in spiritual living?” Spiritual living means living in connection with Spirit. Everyday we rely on the invisible for our life. Our breath is invisible, our communications with each other is invisible, our emotions are invisible and even our thoughts are invisible. The Masters Degree conferred upon me for my ministerial training is called a Masters of Arts in Consciousness Studies. Consciousness for the most part is invisible. So, having said all that, I am now declaring that, whether we are conscious of it or not, we are all centered in spiritual living. This reminds me of a teaching statement I once heard: life is not a question of whether or not we have faith, the question is what do we have faith in? Do we have faith in love or do we have faith in fear? Whatever we believe, we are creating with that belief. I am so delighted to be a part of the Center for Spiritual Living Denver. We are in store for a remarkable year. Centered in Spiritual Living 2009 as our theme promises to create the opportunities for all of us to go deeper and reach higher in the study of our own consciousness. To put it more simply, this is a year for a deeper look at what we truly believe and our ability to create in life what is good and true and loving. I love you all, Please Direct ANY Comments, Suggestions or Problems to the Webmaster
