Season of LoveIf January calls forth the resolve to make changes in our lives, February certainly causes us to reflect on our loving relationships, past, present, and future.
In "A Return to Love," author Marianne Williamson reminds us that, "Pain doesn't stem from the love we're denied by others, but rather from the love we deny them."
In my life, the most painful part of ending any relationship is the part where I can't find the love. The reason I can't find it, is because my ego is choosing to experience fear. Choosing.
Can I choose to experience love instead?
If love is all there is...
If all I am is love...
It should be easy, right?
Relationships should be an endless celebration and everyone should be living with their perfect soulmate. It also helps if the soulmate wakes up before me and makes the coffee, but, hey, that's just me.
Why is it so easy to forget that I AM LOVE?
What if: I love myself long enough and hard enough that it spills over onto everyone in my life?
What if: I get up and make the coffee? What changes might appear in my life?
What might I be paving the way for? ...or holding a space for?
What neural pathways might be developing in my brain?
And what if a whole group of people started loving themselves? We could be unstoppable. We would be unstoppable.
Let's try this:
This Valentine's Day, and every day after, I invite you to look in the mirror and see the light of God in your eyes. Do it right after you brush your teeth. Just 30 seconds a day. You are looking at God. God is looking at You. Just 30 seconds.
Thirty seconds will improve all your relationships. Thirty seconds will change the world.
Remember:
Love will find you.
Love will find you.
You've got to be there.

And Happy Valentine's Day
